1. Abstract Submission

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of free communication abstracts for presentation at the 15th Asia-Pacific Environmental and Occupational Dermatology Symposium (APEODS) and the 44th Annual Dermatology Conference (ADC) of Dermatological Society of Malaysia 2019

 

Abstract submission for free communication (oral/eposter) is divided into TWO categories:

    1. Contact Dermatitis and Occupational Dermatoses (CDOD)
    2. General Dermatology

Abstract must not have been submitted to any other national or international conference
Abstract is based on findings that are ethical and valid; scientific and/or clinical methods All authors must agree with the entire contents of submitted abstract and consent to be obtained from all listed authors

Abstracts may only be submitted ONLINE through this page after receiving confirmation email for registration. Abstracts submitted by email, fax or post will NOT be accepted.

The deadline for abstract submission is 30th June 2019. Abstracts submitted after deadline will NOT be accepted.

 

Abstract Submission Format

  1. Abstracts must be submitted in English
  2. The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published.
  3. A short capitalized title that indicates content of abstract. Abbreviations must not be used in the title.
  4. Authors are to ensure that their names submitted are correct based on first name and last (family) name. Do not include degrees or titles. Presenting author's name should be underlined. List each author's institution, city, state and country. The maximum number of authors allowed will be 5.
  5. Do not exceed 250 words. The submission program will automatically calculate the size of your abstract and will not allow submissions that do not fit in the size requirements.
  6. Organize the content under these subtitles:
      • Introduction & Objectives: A sentence describing the purpose of the study
      • Methodology: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
      • Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence
      • Conclusions
        If your abstract describes a case report, you can insert the whole text under the “Results” section.
  7. References are not required for abstract submission.
  8. Check spelling and grammar carefully. If selected, direct reproduction of your electronically submitted abstract will be uploaded directly to the conference mobile apps

 

All abstracts received will be independently reviewed by the scientific committee and accepted based on scientific value and educational need. Top eight abstracts will be selected for oral presentation in each category:

1. Contact Dermatitis and Occupational Dermatoses (CDOD) research presentation
2. General Dermatology research presentation and

Committee decision is final and cannot be appealed.

 

Top THREE oral presentations in each categories will be awarded: 1St prize: RM 1000 2nd prize: RM 750 and 3rd prize: RM 500. Selection for the awards will be decided by the panel of judges based on originality and quality, relevance to practice, presentation and discussion. The judges' decision is final and cannot be appealed.

 

The rest of the accepted abstracts will be assigned for eposter presentation. Template for eposter will be given during notification of status of submission.

 

All oral and poster presentation will received a certificate of appreciation.

 

Please ensure that your e-mail address is accurate at the time of submission. All correspondence will be sent via e-mail to the corresponding author. Authors will be notified by 31st July 2019 as to the acceptance status of their submissions, including the assignment of session category and presentation format (oral or poster).
